We’ve heard that the key to inner-peace is being present. To be present can mean different things to each of us but somewhere in that presence always comes a stillness; being quiet to listen, being aware to observe or just being…still. Although there are many gifts to be found in stillness, there can also be discomfort, fear and uncertainty. Whether we find ourselves in a silent space of self or in a complex place of togetherness, we might find struggle or we may reach harmony. Each of our experiences differs. Let’s honor those places, those emotions, those moments of stillness (and what we might find there) with our lenses this month as we explore what it is to be still.
We invite you to read and share in the essays of questioning and quiet discovery this month. And join us by tagging your images with our monthly tag #ourcollectivestillness (and our usual #ourcollective #shuttersisters & #thecameramen too when you see fit).
And as always, if you are so inspired to share what you find in the stillness, please consider submitting an essay for a future issue of X : Our Collective Offering.
We look forward to hearing from you,
